| The Global Investor Meet held at Indore, the financial capital of Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Around 400 industrialists and investors took part in this ambitious and prestigious meet. These included 121 NRI’s and foreigners out of which 42 were arranged by IEBF. |

| Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan has said that UK law firms could be allowed to operate in India but a final decision in the matter would have to be taken by the Indian Bar Council. |

The Annual Diwali Dinner - 2 OCT 2008 |
| LEach year The Loomba Trust holds Diwali celebrations at Whitehall. This year UKIBC is supporting it. The Trust's Patron: Cherie Blair will be in attendance, and other Guests of Honour and VIPs are invited. The evening consists of a drinks reception, followed by a gala dinner. The dress code is black tie. This year the event is supporting two causes: the education of children of poor widows and to support the work of the Safer London Foundation to combat gun and gang culture. |
